There was a smile almost all the time, when I read “The Monk who sold his Ferrari” couple of years back. It is filled with motivational thoughts about the purpose of life and made a great impact on me.
Let me show you my perspective on some of the quotes well sequenced below from this great book by Robin Sharma:
“Wake-up Early, Life is Short, what if today is the last night of my life, so enjoy life to the full”
We always postpone our happiness on tomorrow. Tomorrow never comes. Today is the day and this is the time. You can live now, you can smile now and you can make most of it just now. Wakeup early and create a strong foundation of the day with reading something purposeful for your life.
“The purpose of life is a life of purpose.”
Well I just told about wake up early. But in reality, it is not that easy until we have precise purpose of our life. What is the purpose of your life? What dreams keep you awake at night sometimes? Ask yourself today and every day until you get the answer.
“Self knowledge is the stepping stop to self mastery.”
In this universe, every single thing has its value and every life is worth living. As soon we realize true meaning of our life, we actually start living. We spent most of our life collecting knowledge about the world outside us; now it is the time to look inside.
“You will never be able to hit a target that you cannot see.”
Think about the purpose of your life; see when you want to achieve it. Divide it into small pieces, so that you can clearly see your target.
“Only those who seek shall find.”
If there is a destination, there must be a way that leads to your destination. Even you should already have seen there are multiple roads leads to the same destination. Find your best way. If you don’t find create one. Remember, you always have all the potential to get there.
“Everything is created twice, first in the mind and then in reality.”
Create a virtual image of the thing that you want to achieve in your life. Once you have that image, your mind automatically starts giving suggestions, how to get there. But a clear image is essential.
“Take the road less travelled.”
Stop following the crowd, there are other roads as well. Never ever let your fear stops you. Try them.
“The boundaries of your life are merely a creation of the self.”
Did you already set a limit in your mind? There is no limitation in here, if you work on your true abilities. Suppose, if you think that you cannot beat opposition team, you are already defeated. But if you try to find the ways to win over him, you will get that too. So think out of box. Even, I have read somewhere that we should think like there is no box.
“The mind is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master.”
Remember mind is a part of you; you need to master it. It can achieve anything if you nurture it with right kind of motivation. Meditation is an art to take control of your thoughts and your mind. Once you have control of your mind, it will guide to the destination you want.
“Find out what you truly love to do then direct all of your energy towards doing it.”
